Is BetterApply legit? Yes, in the sense that matters first: BetterApply (betterapply.co, often searched as “better apply”) is a real company that takes real payments and delivers a working product. Whether it is worth paying for is a different question. On 2 October 2026, BetterApply’s Trustpilot profile showed a TrustScore of 1.9 out of 5 from 67 reviews: 44 of them (66%) one-star and 9 (13%) five-star. This BetterApply review explains where that split comes from, what the product costs, whether any of it is free, what the complaints are about, and how to cancel if you have already signed up.

Short answer: is BetterApply legit?

BetterApply is legit: a real product, payments through Stripe and PayPal, reviewers who report interviews and at least one job offer, and a company that replies publicly to its critics. It is not a scam, but it is a product with a 1.9 Trustpilot score, prices you only see after signing up, a $19.99 first month that renews at $50, and repeat complaints about cancelling.

Is better apply a real company? Yes. Its terms and conditions, read on 2 October 2026, name the operator as UAB Career solutions, company code 307136422, registered at Laisves av. 78B-214, Vilnius, Lithuania.

Who it suits. Mid-career applicants in common tracks (software, product, marketing, admin) in the US, Canada, UK, Australia or New Zealand who want matching, cover letters and interview prep in one place.

The biggest reservation. Billing. The terms set a no refund policy with a narrow 14-day exception, renewals arrive without a reminder according to several reviewers, and reviews from July to September 2026 describe a cancel page that returned errors and charges that continued after cancelling.

How this review was done. We did not run a paid BetterApply account. The review is built from betterapply.co (homepage, pricing URL, terms and conditions, contact page), BetterApply’s Trustpilot profile as it stood on 2 October 2026, and individual reviews and company replies from November 2025 to September 2026. Each quote links to its source.

What BetterApply does

BetterApply is an AI job application tool sold mostly through social ads. You build a profile with your resume, job titles, seniority and locations. The platform shows you a pool of matched jobs, generates a cover letter for each, and applies once you approve. On 2 October 2026 its homepage lists four features: matched jobs, a resume built and tailored for each application, auto-apply “with one click” tracked in a dashboard, and an AI interview coach. Four things about how it works are worth knowing before you pay.

1. “Auto-apply” means one click per job. In its public reply to Ken Terry (4 May 2026), BetterApply wrote: “We also want to be transparent that auto-apply currently requires one click of approval from you before submitting.” A fully hands-free option was described as on the roadmap.
2. Match volume depends on how many titles you enter. BetterApply’s standard reply to thin results is that the profile had too few job titles or too narrow a seniority range.
3. Coverage leans on LinkedIn. Reviewers including Lorraine Won describe the platform working mainly through LinkedIn-style applications, with Workday, Greenhouse and Lever handled as partial autofill. In July 2026 Colin Young wrote that every relevant job he saw “was already listed on LinkedIn and Indeed.”
4. Supported countries are limited. Per BetterApply’s reply to Clement Cheam, it supports the US, Canada, UK, Australia and New Zealand.

BetterApply pricing in 2026

BetterApply pricing is not public. On 2 October 2026, betterapply.co/pricing loads the same marketing page as the homepage with no plan prices, and prices appear only inside the app after you create an account. So we could not check a vendor price list today. What follows is what Trustpilot reviewers reported paying, taken from our full BetterApply pricing breakdown, which links each price to the reviewer who paid it.

In plain sentences: the most commonly reported BetterApply price is $19.99 for the first month, renewing at $50 a month unless you cancel. Reviewers also reported a $39 monthly tier, a $29.99 discounted first month, and a $15 three-month promotion that renewed at $50. Those reports date from November 2025 to May 2026.

The renewal jump is the number to remember: $19.99 becomes $50. It is the root of most billing complaints, and BetterApply’s terms allow it: clause 5.8.3 says renewals “will be charged at Company’s then-current rates,” which may be higher than the first period.

At checkout, the “60% off” countdown timer resets on refresh, per Connor W., and on 2 October 2026 the site carried a banner reading “Get 40% off your order for limited time only.”

Refund terms. Clause 6.1 of the terms reads: “The Company follows a no refund policy, unless the product is proven to be not as described or faulty.” A claim has to reach support “within 14 days upon delivery” with proof attached. In practice, reviewers including Anthony Hicklin and Maygon report being told “we follow a no-refund policy unless the product is proven to be faulty,” though partial refunds of around 50% have been offered in some cases, including to Keith in June 2026.

Is BetterApply free?

No, not as an ongoing plan. If you are searching “is better apply free,” here is what can be checked on 2 October 2026:

• The homepage advertises no free plan and shows no prices.
• The terms (clause 5.9) say BetterApply “may offer the trials of paid subscriptions for the limited time at a special price or without payment,” and that billing starts automatically the day after a trial ends unless you cancel first.
• A free trial of 5 applications with no card was listed on BetterApply’s pricing page in May 2026. We could not confirm it is still offered, because prices and plans now sit behind the signup.

So plan on BetterApply being a paid subscription with, at best, a small trial.

What is free elsewhere: FastApply gives you 5 free applications with no credit card, Simplify’s autofill extension is free with no application cap, LoopCV has a free plan of up to 10 applications a month, and Earn Better is free throughout.

How to cancel BetterApply

We have not cancelled an account ourselves, so this short answer to “how to cancel better apply” uses the steps BetterApply’s own terms and public replies describe. Our full guide to cancelling BetterApply and getting a refund has the email wording, the refund request and the card dispute process.

BetterApply’s terms (read 2 October 2026) say subscriptions renew automatically for a period equal to the last one, that you must cancel “at least 48 hours before the end of the current period” (clause 5.8.4), and that you can cancel “by logging in to the Users Account” on the website “or contacting the support team” (clause 5.8.5).

1. Find your renewal date and count back 48 hours. That is your real deadline, not the renewal date itself.
2. Cancel in the app. Sign in at betterapply.co and open your Profile settings. BetterApply’s replies locate the control there: “we do have a self-cancellation option available directly within the platform in the Profile section” (reply to Keith, 17 June 2026).
3. Screenshot the result, including any error. BetterApply admitted in a reply dated 23 August 2026 to Tesha Shannon: “We did identify a bug with our self-serve cancellation feature during this period,” adding that it “has since been resolved.” A review dated 28 September 2026 from stuart still reports “error 500” on cancelling, so do not assume it works.
4. If the page fails, email [email protected] the same day. It is .co, not .com; reviewers have lost days to the wrong address. Send it from your account email and say you are cancelling the subscription and its auto-renewal. The terms accept contacting support as a way to cancel, so a dated email is your proof.
5. If you are charged after cancelling, dispute it. Send support your screenshot first, then go to your card issuer or PayPal, as Joe, Ken Terry and Tesha Shannon did.

Better apply customer service. There is no phone number. BetterApply’s contact page lists one channel, [email protected], with support hours of Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM EST, and says “we typically respond within 24 hours during business days.” Trustpilot lists the same email.

What BetterApply users complain about

Trustpilot

On 2 October 2026, BetterApply’s Trustpilot page showed a TrustScore of 1.9 from 67 reviews: 44 one-star, 9 two-star, 3 three-star, 2 four-star and 9 five-star. On 22 September 2026 the same page showed 2.0 from 70 reviews. Sixty-seven reviews is a small sample for a product advertised this widely, so treat the percentages as a signal of the complaint themes rather than a precise measure of how most customers feel.

What the five-star reviews say. Time saved and, for some users, relevant matches. Kelsey Gibbs (23 April 2026) reported “two interviews in a week” and said BetterApply “did a better job searching for relevant roles for me than LinkedIn or ZipRecruiter.” Raymond Rucero (December 2025): “I was skeptical tbh, but it actually did auto applications and I got a job offer in like 5 weeks.”

What the one-star reviews say. Three themes run through the better apply reviews on Trustpilot.

Matches that do not fit. Gary Smith (March 2026), a pharmaceutical and biotech engineer, wrote that “all of the ‘matches’ are software and aerospace engineering.” Timboid (May 2026) saw “well over 400 possible job hits” before paying $29.99 and then “a trickle of just 4 matched jobs for the next few weeks.”

Automatic recurring billing. Jack Wolgast (May 2026): “We get charged the $15, then one month later, we were charged $50… they ‘don’t do refunds.’” Ben (May 2026) was charged for another three months with “no warning or reminder communications.”

Difficulty cancelling. This is the newest and sharpest theme. James Ross (July 2026) described “a real struggle to cancel - error messages and unresponsive tech support.” An unnamed August 2026 reviewer wrote that “the website kept showing errors every time I tried” and that the card was charged in the meantime. Tesha Shannon wrote that “their unsubscribe button doesn’t work” and that she was charged a third time.

What BetterApply says back. The company replies to most critical reviews with the same points: profile setup explains thin matches, renewal terms are shown at plan selection and checkout, cancellation is in the Profile section, and the support address is [email protected]. It has also conceded the cancellation bug in writing. Those replies are the best evidence that a real team runs the product, and why the “is BetterApply legit” question has a clear answer even with a 1.9 score.

Reddit

The Reddit thread most people find is Better Apply, is it worth it? on r/remotework, where the poster asks whether the subscription is worth paying for after using Indeed and LinkedIn. Reddit blocked our automated request on 2 October 2026, so we link the thread rather than quote replies we could not read in full.

Chrome Web Store and scam checker sites

We could not find a rated Chrome Web Store or app store listing for BetterApply that we could verify on 2 October 2026, so we quote no store rating. Scamadviser and Scam Detector publish automated trust scores for betterapply.co; both refused our request on 22 September 2026, so we quote no number. An automated score built from domain age and hosting is not evidence of fraud in either direction.

Two patterns worth knowing before you pay

The pre-payment match count is not what you get. Keith (March 2026) saw “hundreds of suitable roles” before paying and “around twenty roles none of which match my experience” after. BetterApply blames profile setup. Either way, the number you base the purchase on is the wrong number.

Senior and niche candidates get weak matches. Suzanne Davis-Hall (May 2026) was told by support she had “no matches as I was too senior.” Lorraine Won, an HR professional, was sent IT and customer service roles. The engine does best on common, mid-level titles in tech, marketing and admin.

BetterApply.co is not BetterApply.ai
